Lifelong Education and New Ways of Learning: Problem-Based Learning, hybrid e-Learning

The objective of this Work Package is for Gulu University (GU) to explore innovative approaches to learning based on problem- and project-based learning (PBL), design thinking, and the effective use of information and communication technology (ICT). These approaches are collectively conceptualized as a PBL-Hybrid model that emphasizes learning with technology rather than simply about technology.

Expected outcomes include piloting and scaling up the redesign of selected master’s programmes at GU, as well as piloting the PBL-Hybrid approach in large undergraduate classes. This will be supported by the development and curation of Open Educational Resources (OERs), alongside enhanced use of Moodle.

The anticipated impact is improved graduate employability and strengthened acquisition of 21st-century skills, including entrepreneurial and transformative competences. The research component of this Work Package is coordinated by the Centre of Excellence on ICT and Learning.
